Mollusc Information
Slugs and snails have always been one of my personal favourites when it comes to exotic inverts. I have over the years kept a large number of species, but in recent times have moved away from African giant land snails due to the lack of variance in appearance. I am mostly focusing on smaller species, tree snails and unusual slugs.
Guides
Basic Caresheet: a basic guide on keeping Giant Land Snails.
If youre new to keeping Giant Land Snails this is a good place to start, offering a general breakdown on enclosure, feeding and environmental needs.

Substrate: choosing the right substrate.
The question of which substrate to use when setting up a snail enclosure raises its head frequently. This guide is a quick run through of the options and their suitability.

Species I currently rear
My current culture list is starting to feel more comfortable again, having required a number of species which Id given up a few years ago. Im still on the look out for some missing numbers.
Im currently lacking in almost all Archachatina species, including Arch. marginata ovum and suturalis in both normal and white fleshed varieties. Also on the hunt for more Achatina iredalei.

Achatina achatina
A stunning tiger striped giant species from Africa. Attractive dark rough patterned skin and yellow/black tiger striped shell make this a rewarding snail to rear. Relatively uncommon as captive bred. Captive bred specimens are generally more active and more reliable feeders.

unknown sp [velvet slug]
Unusual small species which gets its name from the velvety appearance of its skin. Only growing to around 4/5cm in length this species has been on my wanted list for a long time, and I am pleased to be able to offer my first generation cb hatchlings.
Slightly more difficult to raise from hatch due to the tiny size of the hatchlings (only a few mm in length) and less prolific than V. Sloanei.
