Isopod Information
There are a reasonable variety of woodlice in culture currently available to the hobbiest, ranging from the common all garden grey P. scaber to the more exotic red/orange mutation and the tiny tropical whites.
Although a fascinating creature to rear of its own right, these make excellent vivarium custodians, and are the invert keepers friend when it comes to maintaining a clean mould free enclosure.
Guides
Culturing Isopods: How to establish a successful Isopod (woodlouse) culture.
A brief guide in how best to house, feed and maintain a successful Isopod culture for use as a feeder insect or viviarum custodian.
Species I currently rear
I currently maintain cultures of common grey woodlice (P. scaber) in all of my cockroach enclosures as they make excellent custodians coexisting without negative effect.
My more recent acquisitions are currently being established for use in snail vivaria.
